Flame in Takayama

Fantastic bar and restaurant! A must visit if you are in town.

The sign promised us "good food and fun night", and it was the case: very good experience! Tasty dishes, good cocktails, local whiskey and sake tastings. With the bonus of a very friendly staff speaking English and various small games (Power 4, cups, puzzles ...) to wait while preparing the dishes. Little more for those interested: vegetarian dishes are on the menu, rare for this city whose specialty is beef, ubiquitous in the neighborhood restaurants.

Huge variety of cocktails and really yummy! Really nice selection of beer. Loved the food and the overall vibe of the bar was really cool! Loved it

Quaint local in the beautiful city of Takayama; indispensable stop to enjoy an excellent sake, under the advice of the very kind owner.Great sake taste!

Truly great place. We stumbled upon it by chance and we were so happy we did. Loved the food and the service. We tried some sake tasting lead by Mishima, the host, who is a great chat, very friendly.

We entered this bar to eat okonomiyaki on a Sunday in the early evening. The bar was empty and after eating 2 delicious, drank beer, sake and umeshu, smoked cigars and remake the world with the boss until closing we can say we spent one of our best evening in Kanazawa.Thanks fot this moment. Hope to see you again. Be carefull with the bears when you fish

Very nice place to go to! The owner is kind and accomodating, making you a custom cocktail if you want (and a good one too!). Good food and fun puzzles and games lying around.

The big raining Takayama night，a warm little bar provided dinner service and rest space to the travellers who were hiding from the big raining..

Went with my family here on New Year’s Eve - we were the only ones in the bar and the owners/hosts were some of the nicest people we met while in Takayama! We had a wonderful conversation with them, had great drinks, tasty snacks, and all at a reasonable price. Plus they have fun pub games to play!

Great ambience and jazz music. They serve a large variety of japanese whiskeys and pretty good japanese omelettes (I can't remember the japanese word)

Hidden bar which caters food as well. Mishima, I believe the owner, is proficient in English and very helpful. It has a vegetarian friendly menu and a large sake menu. Highly recommended.
